The purpose of this project was to explore the benefits of non-electric lighting. This exploration focused on the use of phosphorus material cast in epoxy resin.

The Umber Lounge was designed to explore the material properties of fabric when used in tension. The use of fabric in this method allows for a soft yet suportive seating surface while eliminating the need for cushioning materials like foam.

This project was designed to embrace the natural curves that are made by the bent lamination process. While at the same time pushing the material limits of the veneer. The form was developed in response to the natural bends achieved with paper experimentation and inspired by the way that branches grow.

This Project was an exercise in vacuum forming the goal was to create a pattern that could be formed and assembled from one piece of plastic.

The purpose of this project was to create a modular form that explored the properties and processes used in bent lamination.The result was a form that was simple to produce, elegant and incredibly strong.

The Idea behind this bench was to create a three dimensional representation of a two dimensional optical illusion. The core of this illusion is using a series of straight lines at varying angels to create the image of a curved line. So the three dimensional manifestation of this was to use rectangular stock at different angles to create a dynamic surface.

The goal of this project was to create a stool that could be cut out of one 30 by 60 inch sheet of plywood and be assembled without the assistance of hardware or glue. The form was developed using triangulation to increase the strength and stability as well as taking inspiration from the spider legs.

This assignment was to design a shoe box for a specific pair of shoes with some personal significance. This shoe box is designed to hold a pair of fencing shoes. This box was intended to capture the speed, elegance and cunning of the sport.

The Island Table was developed as a solution to my situation at the time for living in a dorm. I found the conventional dorm desk that was provided didn’t serve my needs particularly well. So I asked myself how can I improve the dorm desk? This question guided a lot of the choices I made in making this product. These choices lead to the creation of a desk that was, for me, more useful, took up less space in my room, and eliminated the need for the purchase of a chair.
